FRANCE - Paris

The adventures began in Paris.

Taking advantage of the fact that we flew Air France, we decided to extend our stopover in Paris for 2 nights to relax after exams (Bunnies study hard,) and to explore Paris.

We arrived at Charles de Gaulle airport and took the Metro into the city centre which was straightforward to do. We made our way to our original hotel, La Liege Strausbourg, the brochure and website both make the hotel seem quite appealing, but we soon realised it was a slight error as when we got out of the Metro station we realised we were in some kind of ghetto and werent particularly close to anything of interest. We decided to give the rooms a chance and checked in, but it was awful, so 20 minutes and a cab later we arrived at The Rochester, which was much more like what we were after.

One word describes the best thing about Paris: Food. Lots of it - but perhaps not as vegetarian friendly as other places. Obviously baked goods (Paul) were a plenty and croissants are divine in Paris.

Budget large for Paris. Things are expensive out here, a standard meal for two costs around £60-£80.

Tourist attractions!

We hit the town, and covered the main bits. Our hotel was 30 seconds from Champs-Élysées, so incredibly convenient. We spent the day mostly on foot, everything was reasonably walkable, even with my short legs. The public transport system is very reliable and easy to figure out, not expensive either.

Mona Lisa:
Nearly missed this picture, as we walked towards the Mona Lisa, we realised they were closing off areas and people seemed to be leaving, so we SPRINTED through the Louvre and they were closed! No admittance to the Mona Lisa. But Bunny charm works wonders.

Took a lie down with this random guy:
